The Town of Skykomish
Skykomish, Washington
Once a booming logging and railroad town, Skykomish is now a small little gem on the way to outdoor paradise just 2 hours from Seattle. There are outdoor activities for every season of the year here! From the numerous close-by hiking trails, to the many abandoned logging roads, whether you love riding on 2 feet, 2 wheels, mountain biking, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling...Skykomish has something amazing to offer you. And if water is more your thing, thousands of rafters and kayakers enjoy the Skykomish River, one of the finest whitewater rivers in the country! Plus, we can't forget about Stevens Pass Mountain Resort with world class downhill and cross country skiing. All in one place!! It's no wonder I loved it there.
Plus, stop by Sky River Coffee for a great espresso on your way home.
And don't miss Deception Falls, a 94ft tiered waterfall! More info here
Fun Fact: Back in the day, gold, silver and copper miners optimistically flooded the Skykomish valley in hopes of finding their riches. More optimistic than they were successful, the miners left their mark on the area, leaving behind names such as Money Creek and Gold Bar.
